Barnacles of Aging    

Barnacles of aging is a non cancerous growth of the outer layer of the skin. There may be just one growth, or many which occur in clusters. Barnacles of aging are generally harmless spots that appear during adult life. Barnacles of aging look like a dab of warm brown candle wax that has dropped onto the skin. Barnacles of Aging have varying degrees of pigmentation and are usually brown in colour. They vary in size from a fraction of an inch in diameter to larger than a half-dollar.

Causes

Some of the reasons that cause Barnacles of aging are as follows:

A person who is exposed to a lot of ultra violet radiations develops Barnacles of aging very easily.

Sometimes Barnacles of aging may also erupt during pregnancy as a result of either medical problems or estrogen therapy.

Aging is one of the major causes for the appearance of Barnacles of aging as the deeper layers of collagen and elastin that make the skin flexible become less and the skin then gets wrinkled and spots start appearing.

Symptoms

Some symptoms that can be seen on a person suffering from Barnacles of aging are:

  • Swellingof the eyelid.
  • Watering in the affectedeyemay occur in barnacles of aging.
  • The occurrence ofwrinkles on the skin is common in this case.
  • The skin gets thicker.
  • The painin the eye or eyelid is due to barnacles of aging.

Treatment

The various that can be adopted for the treatment of Barnacles of aging are:

Curettage: The unwanted growth of skin can be removed by "curetting" from the surface of the skin. To numb the affected area, an injection or spray is first used. No stitches are necessary, and bleeding is very limited.

Electro surgery : It is another effective method used for the treatment of Barnacles of aging. The growth is first numbed, and then burned using an electric current.

Liquid Nitrogen: It is a cold liquefied gas that is sprayed on the skin with a spray gun and the treatment is repeated three times to cure the disease.

Barnacles of aging as the name suggests appears with age and even though it is not a very serious skin disorder certain curing measures should be adopted to avoid discomfort and pain.
