Uses of Yentreve:

Yentreve is an antidepressant belonging to the category of selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SSNRIs). It is used in the treatment of certain mental disorders such as major depressive disorder and general anxiety disorder (GAD). It is also used in the treatment of chronic pain disorders (fibromyalgia) and pain caused by nerve damage in patients suffering from diabetes (diabetic neuropathy).

Yentreve works by reducing the imbalance of serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain that helps elevate mood. It helps fight negative thoughts, gloominess and feelings of being alone.

Indications and Dosage:

It is essential to take the medication as directed by your professional health care physician. Do not stop taking the medication without consulting your doctor. If you experience any side effects after the discontinuation of the medication, you must report it immediately to your doctor and gradually withdraw from the medication.

Warning and Precautions:

Avoid the intake of alcohol as it may increase the risk of damaging your liver.

Avoid taking medications for cold, allergy, seizures and anxiety as they may add to the sleepiness caused by the drug.

Avoid operating heavy machinery including automobiles when onYentreve.

Suicidal thoughts may arise after taking Yentreve, therefore, proper supervision of the patient is required.

Drug Interactions:

DO NOT take Yentreve with thiroidazine drugs like Mellaril.

Mono amine oxidase inhibitors should not be taken with Yentreve. There should be a gap of at least 2 weeks after stopping MAOI therapy and beginning Yentreve medication.

After discontinuing the intake ofYentreve, wait for at least 5 days prior to taking monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) medication

Side Effects:

Some of the most common side effects of the medication include anxiety, panic attacks, mood changes, behavior changes, impulsiveness, agitation, irritability, hostility, mood swings, sleep disturbances, suicidal thoughts, hyperactivity, restlessness, aggressiveness, agitation and behavior changes.
