Uses of Desoxyn:

Desoxyn is administered for treating narcolepsy and Attention deficit disorder with Hyperactivity as well as narcolepsy. It is also used to treat minimal brain dysfunction, epilepsy and Parkinsonism. It is a stimulant drug that produces wakefulness, energy and decreases hyperactivity.

Indications and Dosage:

Desoxyn must be taken as directed by your physician. It is strongly recommended that you abstain from taken more than the prescribed dosage and discontinue taking it once your doctor orders. The drug is highly addictive and may cause insomnia if taken in large quantities for a longer period of time. It is also unadvisable for you to take the drug in the later part of the day due to the fact that it may cause insomnia. On experiencing any symptoms such as loss of appetite or sleeplessness, you must notify your doctor at the earliest.

Warning and Precautions:

Do not take this medicine if you are hypersensitive to it.

This medicine is not recommended for patients with hardened arteries, cardiovascular disease, blood vessel disorder, high blood pressure, bipolar disorder, Tourette’s syndrome, suicidal thoughts, thyroid disorder, seizures, glaucoma, anxiety disorder, aggression, psychosis or tension.

Do not consume alcohol when taking thing this medicine.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or lactating before taking this medicine.

The drug should not be administered to patients with a history of drug abuse.

Desoxyn is not to be given to patients within 14 days after consumption of mono amine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) as it may lead to hypersensitivity.

The combination of Desoxyn and Amphetamine is highly addictive.

Prior to administering the drug, liver function tests must be performed.

Avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery after taking this medicine as it may cause drowsiness.

Side effects of Desoxyn:

Some of the most common side effects of the medication include dizziness, overstimulation, restlessness, drowsiness, vomiting, fatigue, sexual dysfunction, unpleasant reactions, ataxia, skin disease, loss of appetite, edema, fluid retention, sleep pattern disturbances and stomach pain.
