There are various ailments that affect our day to day life and can take the shape of a full blasted illness if left untreated. Headache is one such condition. While, the severity of a headache entirely depends upon the frequency and degree of pain experienced by an individual, it can cause a great deal of discomfort and agony to the sufferer.

There are various causes of headaches and in order to heal your headache, you need to identify the real culprit. Headache can be precipitated by many factors such as prolonged hours of sleep, lack of sleep, stress, tension, long working hours, sleeping or working in an odd position for a long time, dizziness, overdose of pain killers, over exposure to heat or cold, exposure to loud nose, contact with hydrocarbons such as petrol, perfumes, fumes etc., hypertension, hunger or delayed meals, intake of alcohol in excess, inability to get quality sleep etc.

Tips to heal your headache:

Consult a doctor : In case of frequent headaches, it is best for you to visit your doctor for a thorough check up and take the prescribed medications as per the diagnosis. It is not recommended that you take painkillers to treat your headache every time it occurs as it may worsen your symptoms with time instead of relieving them.

Reiki: This is a Japanese technique that helps reduce stress and brings about healing of the mind and body. It traps the unseen energy that governs all life forces and causes us to be alive. You can contact a good reiki practitioner to help relieve your headache and elevate the lowered energy levels within you.

Acupuncture: This is an ancient Chinese technique that helps relieve headache by applying pressure on various pressure points of the body.

Aromatherapy: This is a branch of alternative medicine that helps treat various ailments through essential oils of plant extracts. The various oils that helps relieve headache are lavender, peppermint, sandalwood,eucalyptus, ginger and jasmine.

Natural Remedies to heal your headache:

If you are looking to get rid of your headache and cannot go to the drug store, you can find a great remedy right in your kitchen cabinet.

Carrot juice: having a glass of fresh carrot juice every 4 hours helps subside the headache.

Herbal Tea: Boil 2 tbsp chrysanthemum flowers, 2 table spoons of cassia seeds, and 2 table spoons of mint for 15 minutes in 4 ups of water. Drink this infusion thrice a day to cure your headache.

Herbs for headache relief: Herbs such as peppermint, feverfew, wintergreen, passionflower and chamomile are known to provide relief in headache.
